ABOUT

QBS is a professional M&E Design and Sustainability Consultancy, operating across all sectors of the built environment, including residential, industrial & commercial, hospitality, health & leisure, etc.


The practice is registered with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE),  and can be found on the prestigious CIBSE Directory of Practices.


QBS is headed by Sam Quinn, an industry professional, and a long-standing member of CIBSE, with a wealth of experience gained from more than 25 years within the construction sector.


Located on the outskirts  of Colchester, Essex, the office has fast links to London and the Home Counties.  The office also has strong links to the island of Malta, where we can offer m&e design to comply with local regulations, and CIBSE standards.


Design elements include heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, hot & cold water systems, lighting, power, drainage, sustainability, and so forth.  Our scheme designs are produced on AutoCAD, and covered by appropriate levels of professional indemnity and public liability insurance.


We provide a full range of calculations and sustainability reporting for Planning and Building Regulations, including, but not limited to Part L calculations (SAP/SBEM), Energy Performance Certificates (EPC/DEC), thermal modelling and TM52/TM59 overheating simulations, Sustainability Reports and Energy Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Sustainable Urban Drainage reports and designs (SuDS).
